Window cleaning in Ottawa
Neiber cleans residential windows across Ottawa for $10 per pane ($8 per pane for members), with a 10-pane minimum, interior and exterior included. A typical 1 to 2 storey home falls in the 15 to 30 pane range, so most visits land between $150 and $300. Homes within 1 km that book the same day save a further 10 to 15%.
What a visit includes
- Interior and exterior of every pane you count, cleaned by hand.
- Sills and frames wiped down as we go, not left gritty.
- Gutter cleaning add-on for $80 if you want it done on the same visit - no second trip, no second trip charge.
- Our guarantee: if something is not right, the crew comes back free. That is the whole policy.
How the pricing works
Window cleaning is priced per pane, not per hour or per “window”, so the quote does not swing with how long the job takes. A pane is one piece of glass: a standard double-hung window is two panes, a sliding patio door is two.
You do not have to count them exactly. Pick the band that looks like your home (under 15, 15 to 30, 30 to 50, 50+) and we confirm the real count on site before any work starts.
Members pay $8/pane instead of $10, and every membership dollar becomes spendable Balance rather than a fee that disappears.
The best time to clean windows in Ottawa
Two windows in the year are genuinely better than the rest: mid-May to mid-June, once the pollen has dropped and the street sweepers have been through, and early September to mid-October, after summer dust and before the leaves come down.
Summer (mid-June through August) is perfectly fine - slightly more airborne dust, so the finish does not last quite as long. We schedule around this automatically so you are not guessing.
Most Ottawa homes do well on twice a year: once each of those windows. Once a year works if you pick the fall slot.
Frequently asked questions
How much does window cleaning cost in Ottawa?▾
Neiber charges $10 per pane at retail and $8 per pane for members, with a 10-pane minimum, interior and exterior included. A typical 1 to 2 storey Ottawa home has 15 to 30 panes, so most visits are $150 to $300. Booking the same day as neighbours within 1 km saves a further 10 to 15%.
What counts as a pane?▾
One piece of glass. A standard double-hung window is two panes; a sliding patio door is two. You do not need an exact count to book - choose the band that matches your home and we confirm the real number on site before starting.
Do you clean the inside as well as the outside?▾
Yes. The per-pane price covers interior and exterior, with sills and frames wiped as we go.
How often should windows be cleaned in Ottawa?▾
Twice a year suits most Ottawa homes: once in mid-May to mid-June after the pollen drop, and once in early September to mid-October before leaf fall. Once a year is fine if you choose the fall visit.
Do you clean second and third storey windows?▾
Yes. Tell us the number of storeys when you book so the crew brings the right access equipment - it does not change the per-pane price.
Can gutter cleaning be done at the same time?▾
Yes - exterior gutter cleaning is an $80 add-on to a window visit, done on the same trip.
How do neighbours booking together save money?▾
It is called a Neiber Chain. When homes within 1 km book the same service on the same day, everyone saves: 10% for 2 homes, 15% for 3 or more. The neighbour who starts the chain earns up to $35 in Credits. One crew, one street, one day - so we pass the efficiency back.
